GENERAL SCOPE & SUMMARY

Education Specialists at Alpha Omega Publications (AOP) leave every encounter with their customers feeling like something valuable just occurred.   Our Education Specialists understand how to align the benefits of the AOP offerings with the needs of current and prospective Christian School customers.  They are insightful, mission-driven, and advocates for students.  Our Education Specialists help schools select appropriate professional development and curriculum to better serve their students.

At AOP, we offer professional development, online curriculum, and print curriculum solutions that allow Christian Schools to support children and families through differentiated and mastery-based instruction. Relentless relationship developers, our Education Specialists are stars within our organization who drive customer success.

PRIMARY ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and works a territory plan via quantitative and qualitative analysis of territory needs and opportunities including: market analysis, customer/prospect research and competitive analysis
  • Engages with customers proactively and provocatively with a strategic "consultative" and "trusted advisor" approach that results in addressing a school's mission, goals, and needs
  • Develops and presents compelling benefits, customer success stories, and value propositions using appropriate communication mediums (phone, web-presentations, face-to-face, email, social media, etc.)
  • Offers unique perspectives and insights regarding the customer's needs and issues, tailoring ways to address those issues, and aligning solution's value to the customer's strategic vision and mission
  • Has, or aspires to learn, high-level skills in advocacy of professional development and online curriculum solutions for schools
  • Collaborates closely with sales, customer service, marketing, finance, management, and assumes primary responsibility for sales and revenue growth, and exceeding sales forecasts and quotas in assigned accounts or territory

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Ability to effectively communicate, and proven success in selling to education institutions, churches, non-profits, or highly mission driven organizations
  • Superior relationship management & communication skills
  • Ability to monitor, manage and achieve critical metrics; qualified leads, YOY customer growth, quota achievement, forecast accuracy, pipeline built to sustain growth
  • Ability to understand customer's budgetary and funding process, procurement process, decision making process, approval process, including the key players and the timing, and keep knowledge current
  • Previous experience selling an online curriculum, learning management system, or education software preferred
  • Naturally inquisitive and excellent listener, with ability to uncover customer aspirations, pain points, and needs
  • Ability to provide solutions that are highly creative and to exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of field sales experience and/or 2+ years of experience working in education with a strong desire to become a sales professional    
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Ability to pass a background check required  
  • Ability to travel an average of 30%-40% annually to customer sites, internal meetings and/or events (regionally within multi-state territory, with some national travel)
  • Ability to work from home office within reasonable distance of a major airport
